Here’s a first peek at the new Leopard Shark design.
One challenge was translating the pattern from an above view, where the side markings stretch into strong bands and symmetrical forms across the body.
Another was balancing those flowing forms with the sharp structure of the Shark Zen style while keeping the silhouette clean through the forward half of the design.
The next Shark Zen design started with a shark I had seen in photos for years, but never fully appreciated until seeing it recently at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
What stood out immediately wasn’t size or aggression, but the pattern.
Striking markings that almost looked hand-painted as it moved through the water.
That movement and symmetry became the starting point for the next design.
