Manta Ray DRAFT

Here's a glimpse of the new Manta Ray design.

This design wasn't about adding detail. It was about deciding what could be left out while still capturing the unmistakable movement of the Manta Ray.

Using negative space to suggest the lighter underside, along with carefully placing features like the gills, helped keep the artwork clean while preserving the character of the species.

Some species deserve more than one interpretation. Years ago, I created a design centered on this animal's unmistakable symmetry and shape.

This time, I wanted to explore a different view, one that captures the way it moves through the open ocean.

The Manta Ray's motion became the inspiration for the next design.
